Bad blog editors

How can I say this gently: The Washington Times Insider Political blogs (warning, warning, danger, danger: blog registration required) are terrible. (I know, calling something terrible isn’t artful criticism. But reading the Washington Times has a deadening effect.)

More trite observations about the Times' blogs:

They don’t get it. Big time. First, the Washington Times requires that I register.

Do I need to tell the Times what year I was born biker bad?

Does it matter whether I’m male or female?

The Washington Times offers up the best examples of “
journalistic detritus” that Wall Street Managing Editor talks about in his interview with Jay Rosen on Press Think. Reporters aren't bloggers. They can't be good bloggers, provoke and sting, unless the forget they're reporters.

On the Delay and Bush relationship:

….the president's personal relationship with Mr. DeLay has never been particularly strong. In 1999, when Mr. Bush was running for president, he said Republicans in Congress should not "balance their budget on the backs of the poor."Mr. DeLay replied: "It's obvious Mr. Bush needs a little education on how Congress works."

We’ve known all along that President Bush is the champion of the poor.

From the it’s-such-a-pain-to-die blog entry category:

There's been so many celebrities dying these days -- religious and otherwise -- that it's starting to feel like overload here.

A Seinfeld-like, true and simple, observation: I can't remember why I thought Friends was funny. From Pretending Along
