Crackheads did it
Four guys in a window. Georgetown DC.
Google maps uses satellite images to produce near street level photos of this city, and many other locations. Here’s where I live. (No big secret thanks to Whois.)
The triangle shaped building to the right is the new GW hospital. The building on the other side, the old hospital, has been torn down. It’ s an empty lot today. But this image is probably no more than two years old.
DC Blogs Noted:
“I'll tell you this much, DC can be a damn expensive place to get married,” writes the DC Food Blog.
Best photo cutline ever written about a home renovation project:
“As you might imagine, the crankiness level is starting to reach toxic proportions,” this is from The Land of JD, which has a series of photos, with narrative, of a kitchen renovation.

I love In Shaw's writing. Its author has a way of taking you into the story with powerful immediacy. Take the first sentence of today’s posting: “I highly suspect the crackheads did it.”
We nicknamed a friend in college the “Samurai Copy Editor” for his keen copy editing skills and ability to spot grammatical and spelling errors on posters, flyers and other bulletin board flotsam 100 feet away. Next to each correction mark was his maniacal “S.” This brings us to the sharp wit and writing of “Why I Hate DC,” and its observations about the tortured writing in The Washington Examiner.
Aren’t blogs great?
