Decent pizza in DC?

Is it possible to get decent pizza south of NYC?

Or more to the point: What’s the best pizza restaurant in DC? Is there such a thing?

Yes, I know Pizzeria Paradiso has legions of fans. But I once ordered a clam or mussel pizza there. I’ve forgotten which shellfish was served. But the important point is that the shellfish was served on the pizza in its shell. That does not work.

But I will say the Pizzeria Paradiso wheat-based pizza is decent.
Faded history. Sign near GW campus

Amtrak update: Despite the problems with Amtrak’s Acela, I had no trouble taking a train to NYC today. There was plenty of seating both ways. One-way fare: $76. It would be less costly if I remembered to bring my AAA card.

Read this classified on Craig’s List DC “
found: soul.” It appears to be about a lost dog.
