The guy from Friendster calls ...

I write for a living, which means I’m alternatively consumed with guilt over not writing enough and resentment over working yet another weekend. All writers are familiar with this Zen.

But I’ll be writing this weekend, thanks to building management.

The building managers spent the better part of the day testing the fire alarm system. The bell is just outside my apartment door. Ding, Ding, Ding, then silence, followed by (really fast) Ding, Ding, Ding (it was almost Dong-like, if I stop to think about it). Then really slow, Ding … Ding … It’s now inside my head.
