The Pictures Are All I Can Feel
Happy and Jaded explains: Six years ago on this
The Metro slowly edges forward and pulls up to the platform. I push myself through the mob of people, excited to be out of the cold, misty rain. I unbutton my jacket, dig through my bag for the newspaper that I bought, and get comfortable for my 40 minute ride into the District. …
Everybody’s Got Their Secrets

As the conversation drew to a close, I asked him the final thing that came to mind:
"Frank, outside of helping to deal with your own secrets as you mentioned earlier... what is the one thing that you've learned since starting this project?"
"The one thing I've learned?" …

Alas, the staff didn't know that I am press, writing for my art blog, Painterly Visions. I forgot to include that in my introduction. An announcement was made in the model Hotel Palomar room, to enjoy ourselves and we would all receive a gift bag when we left. Being infantile when it comes to gift bags, I saw the table of gifts as I was leaving and asked the escort, could I take one? …

Yesterday's counseling session ended up not being counseling at all. It was more of an 'assessment' of our relationship by a neutral third party. She gave us some recommendations on what we should do, and sent us on our way. NO follow-up visits ...

The post above is sad but what follows is a well told story about finding love on Craig’s List. A very nice read. An excerpt:
Now, I was never truly into meeting men from the internet (though some have had good luck), but I figured that night, what
the hell, why not. I responded to a few friendly sounding ads and then I read the one that captured my heart. It was along the lines of a shy guy looking for sweet girl, into cars, video games, etc.. I responded with something like "I'm a sweet girl, and I know nothing about cars, but I am willing to learn!"
A Firsthand Look at Metered Cabs on DCist. Good luck catching one, but check this post out. As part of a test being conducted by the Taxicab Information Project, 20 of the city's 6,500 cabs were recently outfitted with meters for an eight-month trial period. (Why do they need an eight-month

KOB,
Thanks for the mention, and for stopping by and leaving the words of encouragement. It's sad, but I know that I'm not the only one who has been on this journey. The support from fellow bloggers, however, has been amazing. I couldn't get through this without people like you!
Thanks for the mention KOB. Hope you are having a nice Autumn.
Mel: you're welcome -- best to you.
dj flowerz: thank you. Although I now have that song stuck in my head ...
Happy and Jade, I was seriously awed by your work here, and I think it will be inspiring for
others. Washington
Cube pointed it out -- there are so many blogs, and
she's become ace in pointing
out good works.
These happy hour[s] (and I stress plural hours) are becoming quite the production. Before we know it, we're going to have everyone on your list showing up...
Thanks for the shout, KOB. Cookie's right.. we're movin up!
KOB, thanks for your regular updates about my fellow DC bloggers, I am learning a lot about each of them. Plus, your blog is entertaining to read...how do you cut and paste and zoom in those photo of each blogs here?
Hi Teacher Sol
On your key board, upper right, there's a "print scrn" button. Hold down that and the cntrl key at the same time with the screen you want to capture. (To get full screen view, hit the f11 key)
Do you have any kind of imaging, photo software?
If so, just create a blank page on it and do a cntrl v or paste onto it.
I then crop it, resize the screen shot to something like 18-22 pica wide.
I may increase the contrast and sharpen it to make it a little more visible.
It has to be saved as a jpeg image; so you may have to use the "merge visible" or some other layering function on your imaging software before saving.
While the image size may be 20 pica, I usually increase the canvas size to keep text letters from running directly into the image.
If you are using blogger, just upload it like any other image. Or host it on flickr or some other web site you may have, which is what I do. If you look at my page source code you can see how I put the image in.
This is what i do. I'm sure others have better methods and hopefully they will contact you.
When you create your post (assuming you aren't uploading the image into blogger but hosting the image on another site)
You can use this address format (I hate to cut out some of the formating code because blogger won't let me post. but if you right click on your mouse, go to "view source" you can see examples in the code)
img src="http://www.hosting.com/dcblogsbw.JPG "align="right"
When you insert in a post insert right after .jpg the format below, depending on where you want to align the pix.
"align="right"
"align="left"
"align="center"
Thanks for the words about site.
